Vidant Health is seeking a clinical intern to join the integrated care team at Vidant Medical Center's Inpatient Rehabilitation Center from June 2020- June 2021. The inpatient rehabilitation center serves a post-acute population (adults and children) with a variety of medical diagnoses and life-changing conditions (traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, amputation). We have C.A.R.F. accredited specialty programs that include: Pediatrics, Brain Injury, Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury and General Medicine.

The clinical intern will have the opportunity to rotate across all programs, allowing for in depth learning about specific diagnoses and their unique biopsychosocial and spiritual dynamics. The intern will serve on an interdisciplinary team that includes physicians and residents, nurses, case managers, medical family therapist, speech-language pathologists, and physical, occupational, and recreational therapists. 

Job Duties: The intern will operate as a consultant for the interdisciplinary team, a clinician providing individual, family, and group therapy, an onsite supervisor to master's-level Marriage and Family Therapy intern(s), and an active participant in the program development and evaluation of our Medical Family Therapy program. Opportunities for the intern to provide educational presentations will also be provided. The intern will become certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training.

Training site: Vidant Medical Center is a 900-bed academic medical facility that is affiliated with the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine and is the primary teaching hospital for the schools of nursing, medicine and allied health. The Inpatient Rehabilitation Center at Vidant Medical Center is located in Greenville, North Carolina in eastern North Carolina.

Eligibility: Pre or Post Doc with post-master’s considered- Must have 500 hours of clinical experience and 100 hours of supervision by an AAMFT approved supervisor

Benefits: Salary of $37,342 with an additional 10 days of paid education leave

Mathews Counseling, PLLC is currently looking for a part-time and/or full-time couples therapist to join our growing group practice in Cary, NC. We are looking for passionate, dedicated people who enjoy working in a team environment. The therapist must have a commitment to excellent client care with an ability to be work independently when needed.

We are dedicated to both the personal and professional growth of our therapists and strive to create a supportive atmosphere where you can pursue your goals.

The position will be a contract position. The therapist will receive referrals once hired but is also encouraged to build and utilize their own referral base, if desired.

Responsibilities include couple, individual, and family counseling, record maintenance, and treatment planning. Weekly team meetings and monthly one-on-ones with supervisor is also expected. Contributions to blog posts, social media, or overall marketing is encouraged but not required. If you have ideas for groups, workshops, etc. we want to support you in those creative endeavors as much as possible.

Mathews Counseling provides all administrative support, including but not limited to scheduling and billing services. We also provide support and guidance to become paneled with insurance.

Minimum Education and Experience

Required: Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, Substance Abuse Counseling, or related mental health field. Must be licensed or provisionally licensed to practice counseling in the state of North Carolina.
